SAINT PAUL MARKETPLAC NEWS RELEASE
Saint Paul, Minnesota- Located in the heart of Saint Paul, the Historical Sears parking lot will become an outdoor marketplace for local artisans, makers, food trucks and small businesses this weekend. The first annual Saint Paul Marketplace, will take place on Saturday & Sunday, September 16th & 17th from 11am-6pm at 425 Rice Street, St. Paul, MN 55103.
The property was recently acquired by Asian Media Access in June 2023. Asian Media Access and AABRN has a goal & vision to transform the site into a mixed-use community and business hub. The plans are to offer different spaces in retail, food, housing, office, education, sports and entertainment. The Saint Paul Marketplace is a part of the vision and will give small businesses and start-ups the opportunity to grow their businesses.
“The Historic Sears property has been closed since January 2019, leaving a large gap in the Rice Street corridor and surrounding neighborhoods. This location is one of the most diverse areas in the city and our hope with this marketplace is to bring businesses back to the area,” says Marsha Magdalene, one of the event coordinators.
The St Paul Marketplace will be taking place every weekend on Saturday and Sundays starting September 16 & 17 until the weekend of October 21 & 22. The event will feature over 50+ merchandise and food vendors, offering a variety of products and cuisines from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The event is free and open to the public and is expected to draw huge crowds. The event is supported by several organizations and businesses.
